Midfoot Arthritis
Midfoot arthritis results from the breakdown of cartilage in the joints of the middle part of the foot. This can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness, making walking or standing for extended periods difficult. Arthritis in the midfoot is often caused by previous injuries, such as fractures or sprains, or by wear and tear over time. As the condition progresses, the joints may become more rigid, and bone spurs can develop, further limiting movement. Treatment aims to reduce pain and improve mobility through a combination of conservative measures and, in some cases, surgical intervention.
